Safety Standards Development

Sensmetry is dedicated to creating and implementing high-quality industry-wide safety standards for automated driving. We take an active role in a collaborative effort with industry leaders developing the following international automated driving standards:

  • ISO 21448 ‘SOTIF’, the main industry-wide standard addressing the safety of the intended functionality for all levels of automated driving;
  • ISO 34501-34505, a family of standards for scenario-based safety evaluation, ODD taxonomy, and scenario attributes;
  • ASAM OpenODD, a standard defining a format for representing an Operational Design Domain (ODD) for a vehicle;

In addition, Sensmetry actively contributes to the creation of IEEE P2846, a standard on assumptions for models in safety-related automated vehicle behavior.
